All I want for Christmas is La Perla

Because expensive lingerie is just so perfect. It fits so well. It clings in all the right places. It just makes you feel, mmmh. Years of experience spent developing their "in-depth knowledge of the female body" means that La Perla are the best, unquestionably, and that is why I want them in my stocking.

Mr. Ford

"I do not understand everyone's need to see everything online the day after a show," he says. "I don't think it ultimately serves the customer, which is the whole point of my business - not to serve journalists or the fashion system. To put something out that's going to be in a store in six months, and to see it on a starlet, ranked in US magazine next week? My customer doesn't want to wear the same thing she saw on a starlet!"

And he'd rather people didn't "Tom" him anymore. At 49, he lets it be known he prefers "Mr. Ford."

During his time in New York, Ford became a fixture at the legendary nightclub Studio 54, where he realized he was gay. The club's disco-era glamour would be a major influence on his later designs.

What is not to love?

Nicki Minaj at the American Music Awards

Looking hot at the AMA's from last night. Never heard of her before but loving her style. Apparently she is a bi-sexual rapper from Queens. Can't argue with that.

So when growing up to escape from reality she created characters and lived her life through them - sounds like a healthy enough coping mechanism to me. Hey we're all pretending to be someone we're not right? Her first was Cookie, second Harajuku Barbie and the latest incarnation is Nicki Minaj.

Fashion Week

So here a few pics from Fashion Week. My first reaction on getting there was god isn't this awful. You then walk into a show and the magic kicks in and all of a sudden you feel like something from the movies. It's a funny old world isn't it fashion. You hate it because it's exclusive but that's the exact reason you want in.

I can't decide if it makes me feel like this

Or like this

Vintage Night Out

So I've been really getting back into my vintage recently. My Ebay watch list is getting slightly out of control and I've discovered that being surrounded by vintage shops in the East is fantastic as you get your hands on those hard to find gems before anyone else however damaging to one's credit card. I am really excited to be wearing this little number next week to my boyfriend's DJ revival gig. He is trying to play it down of course and is refusing to make me a playlist of the set.

Found these illustrations on a friend's blog the other day - thought they would be the perfect accompaniment to my new jazzy top and gig outing next weekend.

Carrot Top

So after facing facts that ginger does indeed run in my boyfriend's family and our children might indeed be ginger, I've decided to fully embrace the red and this is the shade I am going for:

A Lace Affair

This outfit goes against absolutely everything that I stand for...

Flowery lace tights?

Lacy light green dress?

Dark Victorian boots?

But for some reason it works and I LOVE it. It perhaps reminds me of Gwen.

Any thoughts?

Mawi moves to the Ditch

Ruby red gems, a gold chain and skulls. What's not to like?

Mawi is apparently opening her first store in Shoreditch. Just down the road. Community discount? I do hope.

It's all about the Polka Dots

After searching for weeks for the perfect dress to wear to a wedding, one jumped out at me last night in the most unusual place. Parrots & Pelicans - a new vintage store in Dalston. Good work for 9pm on a Saturday night. Sooooo excited!!

Rihanna looking amazing as always in a polka dot jumpsuit from Dolce & Gabbana.
